Injustice 2: Legendary Edition
Fight in the DC Universe
Picking up where the first Injustice left off, this game takes it to the next level. It’s a superior sequel to a great first game, and the Legendary Edition is the version you want. It has all the DLC packs and characters that were released after the initial version came out. You can choose from a long list of DC characters, from the classic DC superheroes to Hellboy or the Ninja Turtles. The gameplay is really fun. Basic moves are easy to learn, and combos are not hard to pick up either. The special moves are awesome and will obviously help you win; however, you can win without them, which is cool and different from a lot of other fighting games in which special moves are an automatic victory. The story is pretty sweet, too. The animated scenes in between fights are like a good animated DC movie or TV show. It’s just an all-around great fighting game, especially for DC fans.

Mortal Kombat 11
Finish Him
The classic franchise returns with a game that is more than worthy of the Mortal Kombat name. Many people had issues with X, but they have been rectified in 11. The graphics are absolutely spectacular, from the character modeling to the level design to the combat, with X-ray style moves that zoom in for a closeup of the action, as well as beautiful finishing moves and gloriously gory fatalities. Story mode is about 6 hours to play through and is well worth it. The fights deliver all the fun gameplay and great action that is synonymous with this franchise. It’s quick to learn, but longer to master. If you like fighting games, you definitely don’t want to miss this one.

My Hero One’s Justice
Not Just Child's Play
Lesser known in the United States, this Japanese game deserves recognition as one of the most fun fighting games out there. Especially for fans of anime, as this game is like playing inside of a terrific anime. The action is explosive in the anime-style, and there are so many cool characters to play. You can choose to play as good guys or bad guys, which makes things very interesting. You’re not limited to fighting on the ground during the battles; you can walk up walls and buildings. Using your environment makes for very dynamic gameplay, and you even have sidekicks you can bring in to help you. This game has great replay value for hours of fun.

SOUL CALIBUR VI
Daggers and Axes and Staves, Oh My
The best weapon-based fighting franchise returns with one of the best entries in the series. Exhilarating battles with awesome weapons and characters make this an endlessly replayable game. 8-directional movement and intricate attack and blocking mechanics give you a lot to work with and give the battles texture. It has two story modes, and both are fun to play. But it’s battling other players online where this game really shines. Two new characters are added to the phenomenal Soul Calibur roster in VI, giving you more than 20 included characters to play with. You can also create your own characters, which is always fun. It’s an all-around terrific fighting game.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2
DBZ For You And Me
For all the Dragon Ball Z fans out there, this is one of the – if not the – best Dragon Ball Z games ever made. Though the story mode may play closer to an RPG, the VS. mode is good enough fighting to be included on this list. You get to create your own character from four different classes – Human, Frieza, Majin, or Sayain – and it gives you access to all the different moves from all of the characters that have been part of Dragon Ball Z. The combat is smooth and exciting in that Dragon Ball Z way. Story mode has an open world and quests that involve more than just fighting, but it is jolly good fun for sure. New moves and new characters rendered in amazing graphics will keep you coming back for more Dragon Ball Z action.
